Non-Profit: Copywriting for Stories Behind the Fog
Stories Behind the Fog is a documentary mission to gather stories of those suffering from homelessness in San Francisco. My journey with this non-profit began when my dear friend, Diya Guha, approached me and asked me if I would share my own story of living without a home in San Francisco, which would become titled, “I was once a story with no direction, but I wrote myself back to life.”
Not long after I shared my own story, Diya asked me if I could transcribe an interview and craft a journalistic piece from that. The process of transcribing was tedious, as the conversation was far from easy to follow, let alone to extract a story from. After painstakingly transcribing the one-hour-long audio (this was before AI-transcribing tools became common), I wrote a touching and compelling story about a man named William.
